Frequently Asked Questions

How Does One Receive [Jesus] Yahshua?

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus [Yahshua] and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:8-10)

Why Do We Use The Name Yahshua?

1)  Jesus was a Hebrew, or what people call a Jew.  He was born of the tribe of Judah, which came the term “Jew.”  Jesus was given a Hebrew name at His birth.

2)  The Bible was originally written in Hebrew-Aramaic language.  In the Hebrew alphabet, there is no letter “J.”  The Hebrew alphabet consists of twenty-two (22) consonants.  The letter “J” did not exist in any alphabet, until the 14th century; it is the youngest of the twenty-six (26) letters in the English alphabet.  It is a descendant of the letter “I.”  Therefore, the letters “I” and “J” are related etymologically.

3)  “Yah” (YH) is the short form of the divine name of God (Psalm 68:4; Isaiah 12:2 NKJ).

4)  “Yahweh” (YHWH) is the Hebrew name of God seen in scripture called LORD, in which He revealed Himself as Savior, Deliverer, Eternal, and Self-Existing One.

5)  “Jesus” is the Latin name formed and derived from the Greek word “Iesous,” the English form is “Joshua.”  “Yahshua,” “Yeshua,” or “Y’shua” is the Hebrew transliteration.  “Yah” is the short form of “Yahweh,” and “shua” means salvation or Savior.  He said He came in His Father’s Name (John 5:43).  This is clearly revealed in the Hebrew Bible or language.

We are to reach Jews (Hebrews) and Gentiles (all other people) (Romans 1:16)

Why Do We Stand When We Sing?

“Then the Levites…stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with voices loud and high.” (2 Chronicles 20:19)

Why Do We Clap Our Hands?

Oh, clap your hands, all ye people! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! (Psalm 47:1)

Why Do We Lift Our Hands?

“Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your Name.” (Psalm 63:4)

“I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” (1Timothy 2:8)

Why Do We Have Audible Praise Unto God?

“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1)

“So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord…” (Acts 4:24)

Why Do We Sing in Tongues and In English?

For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody]. Then what am I to do? I will pray with the spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will also pray [intelligently] with my mind and understanding; I will sing with my spirit [by the Holy Spirit that is within me], but I will sing [intelligently] with my mind and understanding also. (1Corinthians 14:14-15 Amp)

Why Do We Have This Type Of Worship?

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23-24)

Why Do We Sing Choruses As Well As Hymns?

And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:18-19)

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. (Colossians 3:16)

What Is Prophecy?

PURSUE love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy…But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. (1Corinthians 14:1, 3)

Why Do We Have Speaking with Tongues And Interpretation Of Those Tongues?

Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order…I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification. (1 Corinthians 14:39-40, 5)

Why Are Musical Instruments A Part Of The Worship Service?

Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments [guitars, violins, pianos, and such] and flutes [organs, and such]! Praise Him with loud cymbals! Praise Him with clashing cymbals! (Psalm 150:3-5)

Why Do We Anoint With Oil And Pray For The Sick?

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save [heal] the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (James 5:14-15)

Why Do We Use The Bible In All Services And To Answer All Questions

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man [or congregation] of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Why Do We Receive Tithes And Offerings?

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse …Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, in what way have we robbed You? In tithes and offerings. (Malachi 3:10, 8)

Let each one give as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion. For God loves, that is he takes pleasure in, prizes above other things and is unwilling to abandon a prompt to do it giver whose heart is in his giving. (2 Corinthians 9:6-9 Amp)

Why Do We Share The Love Of God With One Another By Hugging?

…Greet one another with a holy kiss. (1Corinthians 16:20)

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35)

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God (1 John 4:7)
